Services
We have a variety of tools available to you in your journey towards health. Take a look at what we offer below. Please contact us with any of your questions.
Diagnostic Services
We are able to provide a Chinese Medical Diagnosis using our specialized Contemporary Chinese Pulse system. This system provides a reliable source of diagnostic information that is relevant to our modern times and current diseases, and is used for early diagnosis and prevention. It gives important insight into the state of organ health, emotional and psychological functioning, and areas that are of concern for future health.
All internal medicine problems treated by your acupuncture physician use this method of pulse evaluation. In addition, we offer pulse evaluation services for diagnostic purposes if your acupuncture physician would like some more detailed information about your internal landscape.
Treatment Services
We have various modalities of Chinese Medical treatments available. Your acupuncturist will speak with you about which of these will most likely benefit your condition when determining your course of treatment.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of hair-thin sterile needles into specific acupoints in the body. The purpose of acupuncture is to stimulate a smooth flow of energy so as to provide increased blood, lymph, and energy flow to your organs and body systems to promote health and vitality.
Auriculotherapy
Also known as ear acupuncture. A complete system in itself, it can be used to treat almost any disharmony in the body. Your practitioner may use very small 'ear' needles, or tape small viccaria seeds on acupuncture points in the ear that you take home.
Cupping
A therapy designed to stimulate the flow of Qi and blood, as well as lymph in the superficial muscle layers. It is commonly used for sore muscles, tension, neck pain and even the common cold. Your acupuncturist will place small glass 'cups' over specific areas of your body and create a suction typically using heat. The cups may or may not be moved over the affected area. Patients often love this therapy, because it feels like a reverse massage! You may leave the session with some discoloration on the skin, which is normal and no cause for concern.
Gua Sha (Scraping)
Another therapy that is used to release muscle tension. The benefit of this therapy is that it clears out stagnant qi and blood to promote healing in the area, and to prevent further episodes.
Herbal Medicine
Chinese Herbal Medicine is ancient and well-known. The herbs used by your acupuncturist are carefully tested and researched before they are used. Your acupuncturist will arrive at a chinese medical diagnosis and prescribe a custom formula for you based on it. Your formula will most likely change throughout the course of treatment as your body begins to heal.
